Data Deletion Policy

Introduction

This page explains how users of the Expenses Tracker mobile app and website (expenses.joydeb.xyz) can request deletion of their account and data.


Steps to Request Account Deletion

  1. Log in to your account on the website at expenses.joydeb.xyz.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Account and select Delete Account.
  3. Confirm your decision when prompted. This action is permanent.
  4. Alternatively, you may email us at [email protected] with the subject line Account Deletion Request. Be sure to send from the same email address associated with your account.

Once deletion is confirmed, your account will be permanently removed and cannot be restored.


What Data is Deleted

  • Your account information (username, email, encrypted password).
  • All expense records you have entered (amounts, categories, notes, dates).
  • Locally stored data on your device (cached login/session and offline expense entries) will be cleared when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.

What Data May Be Retained

  • Basic server logs (IP address, access times, device/browser info) may be retained for up to 30 days for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
  • Backups containing your data may remain for up to 30 days before being overwritten, after which your data is permanently erased.

Confirmation of Deletion

You will receive a confirmation message on-screen or by email once your account has been successfully deleted.
